Industry Classification


Classification of Industrial Units as per Jharkhand's Industrial Policy 2011

Manufacturing Enterprise

As per the MSMED Act 2006, based on investment in plant and machinery a Manufacturing enterprise is further sub-classified as -

  • Micro Enterprise - Investment up to Rs 25 lakh
  • Small Enterprise - Investment above Rs 25 lakh and up to Rs 500 lakh
  • Medium Enterprise - Investment above Rs 500 lakh and up to Rs 1000 lakh

Service Enterprise

As per the MSMED Act 2006, based on Investment a Service Enterprise is further sub-classified as -

  • Micro Enterprise - Investment up to Rs 10 lakh
  • Small Enterprise - Investment above Rs 10 lakh and up to Rs 200 lakh
  • Medium Enterprise - Investment above Rs 200 lakh and up to Rs 500 lakh

Large Scale Industry

An industrial unit which is not classified as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise and with investments up to Rs 250 crore is classified as large scale industry.

A Mega Project is sub-classified sector wise, as below -
